American Idol May Fire Paula Abdul

Reports are saying that American Idol producers came close to firing judge Paula Abdul earlier this month, and still may do it. They are thinking about having Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson replace her. The producers couldn't handle Abdul's erratic behavior.
A source tells Us Weekly: "Paula was being very difficult. (She was) crying all the time and arriving late for meetings." About the replacement: "(They) liked Jessica (Simpson) a lot. And some were pushing for Britney (Spears)."
Paula Abdul is pretty much the most worthless judge ever. You can just get a recording that says " You are a star" or "What I like about you is...". I mean really. I can't remember the last time Paula criticized someone. If my American Idol audition consisted of blowing up orphans with leukemia, Paula would compliment me on the explosives I used.
Every time you see her on Idol, she looks like she is high or something. Those rich folks are so bored.
She doesn't look wasted every week...but it's hard to miss it when every couple weeks, she seems to be loopier than usual, seems to be having trouble focusing her eyes, and her speech is marginally slurred.
It may well be pain meds... although I thought she claimed that she wasn't having the same kind of pain she did for years.
However, Britney or Jessica would be terrible replacements. Try replacing her with someone with a brain instead of just boobs. There are plenty of attractive women out there who could be constructive and encouraging at the same time.
She was useless for the first four seasons, why bother to replace her now? Sheesh. Randy does have a clue, and provides feedback that could be useful at times; Simon is the only one who has ever been honest most of the time, though often a bit more harsh than he need be - but then, that's what they pay him for: to create the "tension" between the judges and to give the show a little *edge.*
As far as replacing her with Slutney or Duhssica - omg, where are their brains if they're really considering either??? Puh-leeze! Keeping Abdul would be better than either of the S (sleazy, slut, stupid - take your pick) "choices!"
She may be completelhy worthless, but she is still better than fat brit or dumb jess.That is certain.
Yeah, I don't think they need the judges to be cute on that show. They just need someone who's knowledeable and willing to actually speak the truth. Yer right though, Abdoul has some major problems with 1) perscription drugs, and 2) general craziness
She may always support everyone, but I think that most people everywhere see what she says: these kids are improving every week and when someone sucks she compliments their courage or something that makes them feel better. We're always rooting for an underdog and we're always rooting for someone who's growing. It's a competition, not a bashing. Her input is very candy-and-sunshine which is a refreshing contrast to Randy's and Simon's sometimes ascerbic commentary. Whenever Paula cheers someone on, even if they bombed, the audience cheers wildly with her. She's the voice of everyone.
